PRACTISE WHAT YOU SAY OR CHANGE YOUR SPEECH!

Hello! How is the week going? On the blog this week, I would like to discuss HYPOCRISY. It is one of the social vices that not many pay attention to. Meanwhile a lot of people are guilty of it.

HYPOCRISY means the act of claiming to have higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case. It also means the pretense of being what you are not or having a false appearance while concealing the real you. Hypocrites do the direct opposite of what they teach or expect from others. As an intentional individual, you must ensure that you are not caught up in this act because it is the most betraying thing ever. Your actions must not be different from your words if you intend to affect others positively. It is really heart breaking to think that today, people who are suppose to be role models are the ones that indulge in this act the most.

There will be good people around you, but there will also be hypocrites so be mindful of them. How do you know them?  hypocrites are always critical of every move you make towards achieving your goals. They tell you one thing and you find them doing another so don't fall for whatever excuse they give. They pretend to have certain beliefs, attitudes or feelings and intentionally go against yours. They are all out to frustrate every effort you make at succeeding. when you finally do, they pretend to be happy for you while they are not.

Hypocrisy has killed many dreams, businesses and marriages. You need to be able to identify them for your safety and good. They criticize you for what they will die for and condemn your decisions. Many married women and youths have fallen victim of them. They tell you how to train your child but theirs are worse. They tell you how to run your home but won't make effort on theirs. They pretend to listen to you but mock you secretly. When you fail, they rejoice and judge. The only way to overcome them is to ignore and have a mind of your own. If you rely on friend's decision before you can make a move, then you are already a victim. Friendship is only nice if everyone can be true to themselves.

Truth is, no one has the right to judge others based on their own values and beliefs. Hypocrisy starter pack comes with lying, breaking of promises and betraying of trust. It is very important that people see you the way you talk about yourself if you want to maintain your good standard. A good advertisement can only sell a bad product once. This means that once your true identity is revealed to people who trust you, they stop trusting you immediately no matter what you do. Therefore it is best to be known as an honest sinner, than a lying hypocrites.

LIVE FOR YOURSELF AND OTHERS!

Hello there! It's been a while. How has life been treating you? fairly I hope. I had a week break and to me it feels like forever because I totally missed reaching out to you. So much has happened to me during the last week, I lost someone so dear to me at the age of 69 and I feel terrible about it. I wish he had lived longer, but really, when the time is up, no one can add to it.

Life is a journey and everyone will definitely alight when they get to their destinations. Today, I would like you to reflect on few things about life, especially on this question. DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING YOU HOLD SO DEAR,  THAT YOU CAN'T LET GO? Here is the thing, No matter how much money you have, you can't take them with you when your time is up. No matter how close you are with your spouse, they can't be buried with you when you are gone. No matter how sweet your kids are, they can't be allowed too much near your coffin when you are gone. Now why won't you want to let go of things even after knowing that life and everything in it is vanity? You love your kids so much you can't let them out of your sight, you really worked hard for your money so you can't dash it out. You did so much to acquire the knowledge that you have so you can't teach others. Really?

Did you know that man can live forever? through the way he made people feel when he was alive,  the knowledge he passed across, the deeds that he did, the lives he blessed and cared for, the legacy he left behind, the name he wrote in the sand of time, what he stood for and against, the memories of the moments he spent with loved ones e.t.c. Now if a man wasn't so wise enough to live well. Probably he was stingy, egoistic, wicked, not reasonable, selfish, care less for people, use people but care for things, too rigid, too principled, too difficult to deal with, addictive, too stubborn, abusive e.t.c, People would hardly remember him. And on one or too occasions that they do, it will be but for a while. During this period they will talk about his wicked ways and end it with thanks that he left. His works will be totally forgotten because no one likes to save bad memories in their brain.

Maybe you think someone has to ask for your help before you can help them, or you think someone has to say sorry first before you can forgive them. You probably think that since you worked so hard for your money you can't do charity with it, or you think your hard work put you where you are so those who don't have are probably not hardworking enough therefore they are not worth your mercy. Or you think people won't succeed or decide until you help them and because of that you delay helping them intentionally just for the fun.

Really what's the point of having money if you can't give it out? what's the point of being influential if you can't create opportunities for people? what's the point of having a sonorous voice if you can't sing to people with it? what's the point of having children if you can't train them the way they should go? what's the point of marrying if you can't love and care for your spouse? Know that whatever you do today will surely come back at you, good or bad even in death and each time you act irrationally in life concerning anything whatsoever, you pollute the world! Anytime you refuse to do the needful in life, you deny the world of the peace it should enjoy.

Everything good that a man is and will have is for the sake of humanity not only for himself. No one should think only for himself in all areas but rather think also of others and how they are affected in your actions. This way you can be rational in your dealings with people and intentional in shaping your attitude to life. Thank you always for your time...

NEVER LOSE YOUR IDENTITY!

Hello people! you are welcome to another great week. I wonder if you noticed that this year is super fast? I feel the year is running quickly to an end. So how many people believe that things can still turn around for the best within the next four months? I DO! I have learnt many times that when God decides to let your struggles pay off it takes just seconds.

Last year, The internet broke out with the news of a lady named Olajumoke Orisagunna who came from Osun State in Nigeria to Lagos to hustle. She came with one of her two children while she left the other with her husband in Ire, Osun State and hawked bread on the street of Lagos for months. But one morning, she hawked her bread as usual and her life changed forever. While hawking she stumbled on a group of people taking photograph of a British rapper, Tinie Tempah and got photographed accidentally with a tray of bread well balanced on her head and went her way.

Back at her office, the photographer, TY Bello, went through the pictures taken and discovered that the ones that had the lady in the background looked perfect like she had been modelling for years. Thus she began looking for the lady and today she is one of the top models in Nigeria, with her own reality show. Olajumoke Orisagunna didn't go to school, she was a trained hair dresser back at Ire in Osun State and communicates most times in Yoruba language. CNN reported her story too and in such a short time, she has traveled the world.

Two things struck me in her story. 1. she left her comfort zone to seek for greener pasture in Lagos. How many of us are not willing to leave what we consider as comfort zone ? How many are willing to go extra mile in fulfilling purpose? I hear people complain and whine about their current situations without really doing anything to change it. Until you are tired of your current status, you cannot move to the next stage of your life. No amount of complaints without moves can change anyone's situation.

2. She was obviously confident of herself even while hawking bread. To me, it means that she was unapologetic of her status neither was she ashamed. She knew her situation was temporary and probably already had dreams of being a model. If not, aside from her beautiful face, nothing would have struck the creative team in her pictures. Instead, they would have seen a regular bread seller on the street of Lagos who wallowed in self-pity and just happened to have a fine face that she wasn't even aware of.

But in her own case, her confidence plus her fine face gave the picture a meaning and that led to her breakthrough. Don't feel sorry for every positive move you make towards making your life better. Be confident that your current status is temporary and very soon, you will reach your destination. Never lose your identity while doing what you have to do to get to the place of purpose.

You just might be like the bread hawker today, selling things in traffic so you could pay your tuition fee in school or you could even be a cleaner at a bank right now just to make ends meet. That doesn't mean that you will forever be who you are right now. Have it in mind that you are a person of  purpose and what you do right now is a vehicle that will convey you to your very destination.

I knew a guy who had to be a bus conductor because he had to see himself through University. But those who boarded his bus then always knew he wasn't the typical bus conductor they see around. It was obvious that he was a man on a mission. And today he is a graduate and doing fine. Don't lose your identity in the face of adversity and don't give up. Always know who you are, stay focused and one day just like the bread hawker, you will break even.

Thanks for always reading!

COUNT IT ALL JOY!

Hello people! Welcome to the beautiful month of August. It definitely is the month of birthing new things. This week, I would like to admonish those who are travailing and in chaotic period of their lives. There is just one thing to note, in the midst of troubles, there is usually new blessing to tap into.

Sometimes, you never know how strong you are until you are faced with challenges. When people go through challenging periods, it usually look like there is no way out and that it will never end but if you can search deeply, answers on why those things have to be will surface. You will realize that it's just life training you for a greater purpose.

If you don't have a taste of bitterness, you cannot
appreciate the taste of sweetness.

What you are experiencing now is to prepare you, purge you and purify you for the blessings that are to come. For instance, it may be that there are few people you have to do away with before you can evolve. It could also be that there are some characters you have to let go of in order to function well in your purpose.

Appreciate every season of your life. Don't envy others when it seem that they are getting it right because they also have gone through their own chaotic periods. The season you appreciate or envy them for is their time of evolving because no man can escape theirs.

If it will help, I didn't evolve until i had to go through my own share of turbulence. I struggled with betrayal from friends, difficult in-laws, financial issues, unemployment and an unplanned pregnancy (My first child was barely 8 months old when i became pregnant again) all in the space of one year. It was as if that year would never end, but guess what? it did!. And today I count it all joy, in fact I am happy I went through it all because it made me appreciate the blessings that followed. If  I didn't experience all that I did, I would never have seen the need for self evaluation and personal growth which led me to discovering my purpose.

Therefore, in the midst of a great storm, there is something God wants to bring out of it. There is a reason for it. So count it all joy, instead of giving up, look beyond the chaos and birth new things.  Don't lament, but rather get to work, solve the puzzle, reflect, think on the things you can do right and you will be surprised how much you can achieve even in the storm. Thank you for reading, enjoy your week.
